Within the food & drink industry, keeping a clean and hygienic environment is a priority. This kind of foreign object contamination can cause lengthy delays and potentially a PR and financial nightmare. So how can you be sure that your cleaning products are not leaving their filaments behind?
Hillbrush are at the forefront of pioneering product development and have developed the solution to filament-loss issues. Our Resin-Set range of brushware has been designed with filament retention as the priority. Learn more.
Our products are made with a recessed area on the brush back that is later filled with Anti-Microbial infused resin once the filaments have been stapled in. This is a second stage retention method that ensures filament loss is greatly reduced.
After the filaments have been secured into the brush back, we then flood the recessed area with an Anti-Microbial epoxy resin to complete the Dual Retention System (DRS®). The products then undergo an extensive process to dissipate the resin into every crevice, eliminating areas for dirt and moisture to accumulate. Learn more.
Our Anti-Microbial cleaning products are designed for areas that require exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and due diligence in controlling bacterial and foreign object contamination. To secure the filament into the brush back we use food-grade stainless steel staples that are corrosion resistant, making them perfect for food use. Not only are we preventing the risk of filament loss with the production process with our DRS® system, but we are also reducing the risk of spreading harmful bacteria. Each component, including the brush filaments, is infused with Biomaster. This anti-microbial silver-ion additive works continually, is effective for the lifetime of the products, proven to inhibit the growth of bacteria by up to 99.99%.
We use robust polyester filaments that are non-absorbent meaning bacteria can't grow on the fibres, giving you a second level of defence against contamination.
By using our DRS® Resin-Set brushware you will be taking the next step to mitigate any risk of filament loss within the production process, keeping your customers safe and retaining your company's reputation. Learn more.
Resin is naturally produced by plants, however scientists have recently found ways of producing it synthetically. These synthetic resins are more stable than natural ones and also include antimicrobial properties in the polymer. Our Resin-Set DRS® products are made using this antimicrobial resin.
Our range is available in up to 8 different colours to support the HACCP and 5S colour coding and segregation compliance regulations. We also have the ability to print with food-approved ink, this allows us to print our Salmon® logo alongside the name and the code of each product without the worry of the ink getting into the food.
Keeping your environment clean and hygienic is one thing, but ensuring that your cleaning tools are also organised provides another layer of protection. Use Hillbrush workplace organisation to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

Hillbrush was established by brothers Fred and Bill Coward in 1922. The company began in the small rural town of Mere, Wiltshire.
It originally specialised in dairy and agricultural brushes, but within a few years many of the streets were being swept with brushes made by Hillbrush.
Hillbrush originally specialised in making wooden backed brushes and is still one of the largest manufacturers of wooden brushes in the world. Through innovation and product development we were successfully able to introduce a range of plastic backed brushes for the food and beverage industries. Our unrivalled experience and expertise has contributed to our prolonged success, with Hillbrush now producing almost three thousand different products, supplied to over 90 countries across the globe. We look forward to introducing more customers to our vast product range in the years ahead.
Hillbrush is one of only a few UK-based manufacturers of brushware and hygienic cleaning tools. Our factory is located in the small town of Mere, in the south-west corner of Wiltshire, 100 miles west of London. Our passion for innovation and continual product development meant that space at our old factory on Woodlands Road became limited, so we developed and built a new, larger factory and warehouse at Norwood Park just off the A303. The redevelopment took place in 2016. Find out more.
